Sports Specific Strength and Conditioning is different from a fitness class or personal training sessions because exercises are “specific” to the sport instead of a generic class or training . S&C training is much more than just lifting weights and jumping up and down just to make someone sweat.

S&C IS PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT TRAINING
S&C covers your ENTIRE PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT and what is needed to improve your physical performance.
Researches over the years has demonstrated that S&C not just make you better at your sport, but, you can become better without the need to do more session of your sport. Like, having to go out to run more or cycle even longer etc… S&C place a great infancy in preventing/rehabbing injuries as well!

Strength training is just one piece of the jigsaw because although people might only use the term “strength”, you are not actually just training for strength and
a lot of the time you don’t need to use weights at all!
A good “PERIODIZED” Training Plan might involve flexibility training, plyometric training, agility sessions, speed sessions, recovery sessions and different training phases following different phases of your sport. Planning a S&C program is based around your sport so you are at your “BEST” (you peak) at the right time – for your race/sportive/match/game/surf comp etc – or to just become better in what you love doing!
